What Am I Working On?

Usually always something! I’ve found one of my biggest issues with cosplaying is that for every cosplay I finish two more ideas pop into my head. Here I’ll share my upcoming cosplay plans, their concept sketches, and some of their work in progress pics! And as always, progress of all of my builds can be found on my Instagram where I share pictures regularly.

Frieren

Frieren may look done, but there is always room for more! The base of the dress may be done but I have big plans. Currently I am working on beaded and embroidered lace appliques to add texture to the dress and cape. The next step will be making her staff and suitcase and a multitude of trinkets to go into it. Lastly I would like to try tackling making a hard-cap pig tail wig. (And if I end up with time and the motivation I have some ideas for animated spells for her staff)

Celeste: Animal Crossing

My husband has wanted a Blathers cosplay from Animal Crossing (that owl is just too cute!) so we thought it would be fun to make a Celeste to match (Yes we know they are siblings, don’t make it weird). I found a lot of really cute inspirational pics for this character, and pulled some design elements for it that really clicked with me. I don’t know that my sketch really translates my vision well, but I can’t wait to start this build!

Celestine The Living Saint: Warhammer 40K

This character is going to be my biggest build yet, and my most challenging. It will also be my first venture into building foam armor. I am both terrified and incredibly excited. I fell in love with this character listening to an audio drama and knew right away I had to cosplay her. I have already completed the corset for her build, and I made a version of her hip “cape/skirt” thing that I decided was my mock-up. I have plans to incorporate fans into the gorget to keep me cool, a cooling vest in the breast plate, lights in the halo, and I want to mechanize the wings to open and close with a switch. It’s going to be a lot of work to make this vision come together but I think it will be worth it.
